Update & Poll

Mike wrote home on Monday and had a few tidbits to share. He'd also like to have me post a poll which I will do at the end of this post.
He wanted to congratulate Dave Alexander for winning the first of what may become many scripture challenges. He thought that was fun, so he said he'd send some more to post on the blog. There are more pictures coming soon too. He has almost filled up another memory card, so when those come, I'll post more pictures too. Some of the pictures in this batch will be of "the Craziest Dinner he's had in his life". So that should be interesting to see.

He said the work is going well. They have a few more investigators they hope will pan out. But they are also still tracting quite a bit. A little more this week than previous weeks and they will probably do even more this week. He also mentioned that the Southern Baptists HATE them over there.

He has finished reading the Book of Mormon for the first time while on his mission. He talked about his favorite person in the Book of Mormon being Captain Moroni. This is where the Poll comes in...
He'd like to know who everyone's favorite person is in the Book of Mormon and why. So click the comment link under this post (you will have to either sign in or you can just click other and type your name in and then the code it gives you to post. It's EASY! and your name doesn't get saved to any mailing lists or anything either). Put in your favorite person in the B of M and tell us why. This post and all comments will be sent to Mike so he can read what you put.

Also, next week, I will start spotlighting those who have sent in their mission information and pictures (if available). It is fun getting to see some old pictures and hear more about where everyone served, so if you haven't sent that in yet, get on it. You still have some time since I'm just going to do one a week, but I'd like to have it all now so I can get it ready to go and send anything back if necessary.
Thanks to those who have already sent it in.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone puts in the Poll.

My favorite person in the Book of Mormon is Ammon. Could anyone else be so TOUGH that they could open a can of Whoop butt on a gang of bad guys who come to scatter and steal the kings flock and yet be so humble as to voluntarily submit to servitude. Especially when thought of as a God and offered half of an entire kingdom and to wish only for an opportunity to teach the King the Gospel of Christ. That kind of Humility combined with his ability and stature inspires me. He was such an amazing missionary that he basically converted a kingdom and even had a large population who called themselves the people of Ammon because of their admiration of him. What a stud! Would you want to mess with this guy? Click me

Enos wished to gain his own testimony and manifestation of the truthfulness of the gospel. He was taught by his father yet didn't feel worthy enough. He prayed mightly unto the lord and received his manifestation.

My favorite Book of Mormon person is Moroni. He is the epitome of integrity, doing the right thing when no one else knows or cares. But he knew the right choices to make and he knew God knew. I cannot comprehend how lonely his life must have been or how sad, but he was valiant and true to the end of his life.

You have to admire Jacob. I love how he taught the people so clearly. Matt

I admire the 2000 stripling warriors because of their great faith in God, and their dedication to each other, their leader, and the great love they had for their mothers.
Yeah, who else would write this comment.

I would say that Abinidi is my favorite because he was fearless in spite of the fact that he stood in front of King Noah and his henchmen and told them to get their act together while he KNEW he was going to be killed. That shows he knew he had lived a righteous life and was not afraid to meet his maker. Daddio with the big bib ties.
